Remote VP of Engineering (PoS Chain)

About this Role

In this role, you’ll be designing tools used by some of the top blockchain projects. You will help build foundational blockchain infrastructure and collaborate with internal and external experts within various technical domains to advance the rapidly evolving blockchain community and progress the decentralization movement.

The VP of Engineering should have in-depth knowledge of the blockchain ecosystem and a never-ending curiosity to learn and master new technologies and practices. Having this role means you are not afraid of unknowns and enjoy working with others to problem solve and break new ground and you have more than a passing interest in the blockchain space.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operational activities of the engineering division.
• Develop, lead, and inspire the team. Be a magnet for software development talent and accelerate the hiring of strong architects and developers.
• Establish and evolve modern engineering principles and practices for the organization, resulting in high-quality systems and providing technical leadership in terms of architecture, infrastructure, and operations
• Work closely with product and product managers to ensure product deliverables, timelines, and KPIs are met
• Building and evolving blockchain-based systems, proactively addressing security aspects of systems that are always online and always under attack.
• Reviewing product and technical designs for compliance with engineering principles and company standards
• Demonstrate and inspire a strong sense of teamwork
• Demonstrate and inspire integrity, quality, and professionalism
• Work very closely with partners, DApps, and developer community to collect feedback and map out the plans for the technical team

Requirements

• Experience with Ethereum and/or Bitcoin — proficient with the core concepts in the space
• Proven track record of success leading development teams in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment where management of complex product requirements is a critical driver of success
• An established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and a high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, and product releases
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build solid working relationships across the team - from individual contributors to the founders
• Demonstrates a “high organizational IQ”, successfully managing highly technical, geographically distributed teams
• Hands-on as needed with the ability to dive deep when needed
• Leads by example, creating a sense of energy, ownership, detail orientation, collaboration, and personal commitment to the work
• Experience working cross-functionally in a matrix environment and being the connective tissue between many different teams and collaborators
• Extremely organized, responsive, responsible, and accountable
• Excellent active listening and interpersonal skills
